“So, after consulting with the family, I have decided for now to step aside and I have recommended the family to a lawyer. But, I will be keeping a close eye on this.
“I’d like to say that I am not for violence, whether it’s from police officers or whether it’s from civilians. Always remember that.”
His video comes after a new clip emerged showing chaotic scenes in the run-up to the kicking video.
Police have previously said the officers involved reacted forcefully amid fears their weapons could be taken.
Greater Manchester Police said one of the two female officers at the scene suffered a broken nose.
A male officer involved had been removed from duty.
In the new footage of the incident, filmed from a different angle, officers can be seen being punched and the brothers can be seen in the clip fighting with police.
Police chiefs have rallied behind an armed officer who was suspended from duty after kicking a teenager in the head at Manchester Airport last week.
The family of Muhammed Fahir, 19, who was kicked in the head, have also expressed “real concern” for the police who were injured in the moments prior to the incident.
A huge row broke out last week after a short clip showed the armed police officer kick and stamp on the young man’s head.
A new video, released over the weekend, shows multiple officers being punched several times – including two females. Three officers needed hospital treatment after the incident, including one woman for a broken nose.
