Prepare the Dough:

In a large bowl, combine warm water and salt. Stir until salt dissolves.

Add egg and mix well.

Gradually add flour, stirring continuously until mixture starts to form dough.

Cover with cloth or plastic wrap and let rest for 15 minutes.

Prepare the Filling:

Finely chop green onions and spinach.

Form the Flatbreads:

Divide dough into 8 equal balls. Cover to prevent drying.

Roll out 2 balls thinly to 8-10 inches diameter.

Layer and Fill the Dough:

Melt butter and brush one dough layer with melted butter.

Sprinkle a portion of the spinach and onion filling over the buttered dough.

Place the second rolled dough on top.

Brush the top with more butter and add some more filling.

Cut the layered dough into 6 strips.

Roll each strip into a spiral shape. This makes 4 flatbreads.

Roll Out and Cook:

Roll each spiral out to about 8-inch (20 cm) diameter.

Heat a skillet over medium heat, add a little butter.

Place flatbread in skillet, brush top with butter.

Fry about 3 minutes per side, flipping occasionally, until golden brown crust forms.
