Instructions:

1. Preheat & Prep:

• Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
• Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper or grease it well.

2. Make the Shortbread Crust:

1. In a bowl, mix together melted butter, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and flour until combined.
2. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
3. Bake for 15 minutes, or until lightly golden.

3. Prepare the Pecan Filling:

1. In a separate bowl, whisk together brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
2. Fold in the chopped pecans.

4. Assemble & Bake:

1. Pour the pecan filling mixture over the warm, pre-baked crust.
2. Return to the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the filling is set but slightly jiggly in the center.

5. Cool & Slice:

• Let the bars cool completely before slicing (about 1 hour) to allow the filling to firm up.
• Cut into squares and serve!
