Ingredients:
For the Tater Tots:
– 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
– Salt and pepper to taste
For the Sausage Gravy:
– 1 lb (450g) breakfast sausage
– 1/4 cup (30g) all-purpose flour
– 2 cups (480ml) milk
– Salt and pepper to taste
For the Toppings:
– 1 cup (100g) shredded cheddar cheese
– 2 green onions, sliced
Instructions:
Bake the Tater Tots:
– Preheat your oven according to the package instructions for the tater tots.
– Spread the tater tots in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake until crispy, following the package instructions. Season with salt and pepper if desired.
Prepare the Sausage Gravy:
– In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through, breaking it up into crumbles with a spatula.
– Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and stir well to combine. Cook for about 1-2 minutes to eliminate the raw flour taste.
– Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and comes to a simmer. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Reduce the heat to low and keep the gravy warm.
Assemble the Loaded Tater Tots:
– Once the tater tots are baked and crispy, transfer them to a large serving dish or individual bowls.
– Pour the sausage gravy over the top of the tater tots.
– Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the gravy.
– Garnish with sliced green onions.
Serve:
– Serve immediately while the tater tots are hot and the cheese is melted.
Enjoy your loaded tater tots with sausage gravy as a comforting and indulgent meal!
Enjoy!
