250 g (about 9 oz) sliced button mushrooms
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon flour
250 ml (1 cup) beef broth
150 ml (2/3 cup) heavy cream
1 tablespoon soy sauce (optional, for extra flavor)
Salt and pepper to taste
