They are incredibly easy to make and absolutely delicious, whether you steam, boil, or pan-fry them. If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at authentic Chinese dumplings, this recipe will guide you step-by-step to create an irresistible dish.
Ingredients:
For the Dumpling Filling:
1 lb ground pork (or chicken, beef, or tofu for a vegetarian option)
1 cup finely chopped napa cabbage (or regular cabbage)
1/2 cup finely chopped shiitake mushrooms (or any mushrooms of your choice)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
2 tbsp soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tsp rice vinegar
1/4 tsp white pepper
2 green onions, finely chopped
1/2 tsp sugar
For the Dumpling Wrappers:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup water (adjust as needed)
Pinch of salt
Directions:
Prepare the Filling:
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork with the chopped cabbage, mushrooms, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, white pepper, green onions, and sugar.
Use your hands or a spoon to mix the ingredients together until the filling is well-combined. Set aside.
