As the months passed, the changes in the will became less of a focal point in my relationship with my mother. Instead, we focused on building memories, cherishing the moments we had together.
There were still conversations to be had, and questions that lingered, but they no longer held the same power over me. I understood now that my mother’s decisions were rooted in her own experiences and fears, and that she had acted out of love, even if it was difficult to see at first.
