Directions
1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground pork, diced apple, chopped onion, sage, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and cinnamon until well combined.
2. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each into a patty or sausage link, as you prefer.
3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
4. Add the sausages to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through.
5. Serve hot with your favorite sides and enjoy!
Variations & Tips
If you have picky eaters, you can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the pork. For those who prefer a milder flavor, use a grated carrot instead of the onion. You can also experiment with different herbs like thyme or rosemary if you don’t have sage on hand. For a breakfast twist, try adding a bit of maple syrup or brown sugar to the mixture before cooking. These sausages also freeze well, so make a double batch and save some for a quick meal later!
