– 1 package of Polish sausage (about 1 to 1.5 pounds), cut into smaller pieces
– Sauerkraut (16-oz), drained
– 6 small potatoes, quartered
– 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
– 1 bay leaf
– 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
– Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. In a greased slow cooker, place sauerkraut at bottom followed by potatoes and sausage. (Optional: If you want max flavor, brown the sausage before putting them in.)
2. Dump broth, caraway seeds, and bay leaf into slow cooker. Season generously.
3. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours or on high heat for 3-4 hours.
Optional: Add shredded cheese at the end!
Serve your Slow Cooker Polish Sausage, Sauerkraut, and Potatoes hot, garnished with fresh parsley leaves, if desired. The tender sausages, tangy sauerkraut, and perfectly cooked potatoes are a delightful combination that will warm you from the inside out.
