Instructions:
Prepare the Filling:
In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
Add the Coffee:
Stir the cooled coffee and coffee liqueur (if using) into the mascarpone mixture until well blended.
Crush the Ladyfingers:
Place the ladyfinger cookies in a food processor and pulse until finely crushed. You can also place them in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
Form the Balls:
Take a small spoonful of the mascarpone mixture and roll it into a ball. Roll the ball in the crushed ladyfingers until evenly coated. Place the ball on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
Chill:
Once all the tiramisu bites are formed, place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to chill and set.
Dust with Cocoa Powder:
Just before serving, dust the tiramisu bites with unsweetened cocoa powder for a classic tiramisu finish.
Tips for Best Results:
Consistency Matters: Make sure your mascarpone mixture is thick enough to hold its shape when forming the balls. If it’s too runny, chill it in the refrigerator for a bit before rolling.
Even Coating: Ensure the ladyfinger crumbs are fine enough to coat the tiramisu bites evenly. This will give them a nice texture and appearance.
Storage: Store the tiramisu bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
