On an old sweater, I found some strange little reddish balls, and I almost threw up when I realized what they were.

Apparently, mice had tried to make their nest there. At the bottom of the wardrobe, I even found pieces of cotton wool and wires—they had brought rubbish in to make their shelter warmer!

Now I understand that you really need to check and air out your closets at least once a season, and not leave things in there for years. Since then, I’ve set traps and keep everything in airtight containers.
