Remarks about Baking Flour
Unlike self-rising flour, the cake flour called for in this recipe is low-protein, meaning it has a protein concentration of around 8% rather than the usual range of 7% to 9%.
Get Ready
Turn the oven on to 329 degrees Fahrenheit (165 degrees Celsius).
To make the batter: Combine the sugar and butter in a separate bowl and beat with a hand mixer until combined. While beating vigorously after each addition, gradually add the eggs.
Add dry ingredients: While mixing, gradually add the cake flour & baking powder. Beat till incorporated.
Spice things up: After the candied orange slices and chocolate chips have been stirred into the mixture, be sure to distribute them evenly.
