Our expert: A little-known herb kills tumors

November 21, 2025 by Admin

How should we proceed to stock up on enough Vitamin D for the winter and what is the effect of this still little-known herb on various diseases – these questions are answered by Dr. Nikolay Kolev. He is the author of the book “The Beautiful Healer”, in which he presents his scientific thesis about this herb in a popular style and accessible to the general public, emphasizing its countless benefits for human health.

♦ Dr. Nikolay Kolev is a certified dentist and Ayurvedic specialist. Dr. Kolev holds a Master’s degree in “Clinical Trial Management”, obtained with a Master’s thesis proving the possibility of using biologically active ingredients of herbal origin, applicable in the treatment of HIV and COVID-19, which paves the way for more effective treatment of dangerous viral diseases in humans. Long-standing interests in herbology lead him to the study of all the great ancient herbal traditions – European, Ayurvedic and Chinese. He validates them scientifically, with their in-depth research through clinical studies.

– Dr. Kolev, we’ve come up with ideas on how to get more vitamin D for the winter. Can’t I prescribe a trip to Mauritius to take external vitamin D instead of drinking herbs?

– It is possible, although one has to stay there for quite a long time. There are people who always live in the warm season. But those of us who stay here, anyway, drink rock rose, drink adaptogens, vitamins. It is also important that nutrition is balanced in the winter. Let me return with one last sentence about vitamin D. This is the vitamin that protects a person and reduces their susceptibility to viral and bacterial infections. Quite interesting studies have been conducted in this COVID era that we have gone through and it was found that a large part of the people who have had a severe infection or, unfortunately, those who have died from COVID, have a serious vitamin D deficiency. That is, this is also a very leading factor. So if we want to protect ourselves from viruses, there are herbs, but we must supplement and have adequate levels of vitamin D in our blood.

– I ask you this question quite cautiously, but in your book the largest chapter is dedicated to oncological diseases and the rock rose as a potential treatment option.

– The book does have a chapter related to oncological diseases, since there is a lot of data about this herb, but at this stage they are mainly scientific and experimental and are based on experiments with various cancer cell lines. Otherwise, an effect has indeed been established on many cell lines – such as cell lines from breast cancer cells, pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer and many, many others. But, I want to emphasize that we are still very far from using this herb as a treatment for oncological diseases, even as an additional therapy.

– It cannot be concomitant at any stage of treatment?
