Step 1: Preheat Your Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
Set it aside while you assemble the rolls.
Step 2: Prepare the Crescent Dough
Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 8 triangles.
Lay them flat on a clean surface, and if you’re adding cheese, place a strip of cheese along the wider end of each triangle.
This step adds a gooey, melty layer to your pigs in a blanket.
Step 3: Wrap the Hot Dogs
Take one hot dog and place it at the wide end of a crescent triangle.
Roll the dough around the hot dog, starting from the wide end and rolling toward the narrow tip.
Make sure the dough overlaps slightly as you roll to seal in the hot dog.
Repeat with the remaining hot dogs and crescent triangles.
Step 4: Add Garnishes
If you’d like to elevate the appearance and flavor, brush the rolls with a beaten egg.
Sprinkle sesame seeds, poppy seeds, garlic powder, or dried herbs over the top for added flair.
This step is optional but highly recommended for a professional-looking finish.
Step 5: Bake
Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and puffed up.
The smell of buttery, flaky rolls will fill your home.
Serve with your choice of dips, sauces, mustard and/or Ketchup!
