Directions
1. Place chicken breasts at the bottom of the slow cooker.
2. Sprinkle the taco seasoning evenly over the chicken.
3. Pour the salsa over the seasoned chicken.
4. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 3 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
5. If using cheese, sprinkle it over the chicken 10 minutes before the end of cooking time.
Variations & Tips
Want to mix it up a bit? Here are a few ideas! Add a can of drained black beans and a cup of frozen corn in the last hour of cooking for a Tex-Mex flair. For those who like it hot, choose a spicy salsa or add chopped jalapenos. And if you’re not on a low-carb diet, mixing in some cooked rice directly into the slow cooker makes it an all-in-one meal.
