While many athletes and fans echoed these sentiments, Jordan found unlikely support from some political figures and commentators who champion the idea of national unity and respect for the flag. Conservative pundit Tucker Carlson praised Jordan’s statement, claiming it was “long overdue” for someone of his stature to speak out against what he called “disrespectful” acts during national ceremonies.
