If you have a wood stove, insert or pellet boiler, prepare for significant changes as of 2025. Long appreciated for its advantageous cost and ecological aspect, wood-fired heating is now subject to new regulations aimed at reducing its impact on the environment.
Between the reduction of financial aid, new energy efficiency requirements and the gradual ban on open households, many households will have to adapt their installation. Here is everything you need to know to avoid unpleasant surprises.
Reduced aid for the installation of wood-fired heating
One of the first notable changes is the reduction in subsidies for the purchase of a stove or wood-fired boiler via MaPrimeRénov’.
From 2025:
- The aid for a pellet stove will increase from EUR 1 000 to EUR 750 for households with intermediate incomes.
- Low-income households will see their aid reduced by between EUR 1 800 and EUR 1 250.
Why this reduction? The government’s goal is to encourage households to move towards even more efficient and cleaner solutions.
What to do? If you are planning to install a new device, it is better to act quickly to benefit from the current aid before they are reduced.
