What Should You Do if You See the Green Dot?
According to Samsung, you can quickly figure out which app is using your camera or microphone in four simple steps. When the notification first appears, it will show an icon indicating whether the alert is about the camera, microphone, or both. It will then shrink to just the dot in the upper-right corner, appearing alongside any other active indicators.
To find out more, swipe down on the notification bar to open it and tap the dot to expand it. This will open a dialogue box that tells you what’s being used (camera, microphone, or both) and which app is using them. If you’re okay with the app having access, no further action is necessary.
However, if you don’t remember granting access to the app in question, you should open your settings and toggle off those permissions. If the notification shows an app you no longer use, consider deleting it from your device for extra peace of mind.
