Boil the water, and to this, add a good amount of baking soda followed by white vinegar.
Move this effervescent mixture to a larger bowl and immerse the burners.
Give the burners an extended soak – a couple of hours, or even overnight if they are extremely dirty.
Use a sponge to gently rub off the now-softened grime.
Rinse well and towel dry.
