Beyonce has a connection to the culture in her family – both of her grandparents on her mothers side were Louisiana Creoles who spoke French, according to The Times.
The addition of her name comes 20 years after another term connected to the songstress was added to the Oxford English dictionary – Bootylicious.
Beyonce’s former band Destiny’s Child dropped the iconic track of the same name back in 2002, and it subsequently was added to the publication.
It’s defined as ‘𝑠e𝑥ually attractive.’
The dictionary news comes amid a particularly busy season for Beyonce.
She dropped her wildly successful eighth studio album, Country Carter, just over a month ago.
The musician, lovingly nicknamed ‘Queen Bey’ by fans, has been listed as a noun in a 2024 version of Petit Larousse Illustré
