Instructions:
1. Cook the ground beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat. Break it up with a spatula as it cooks, and continue cooking until the beef is browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Once cooked, drain any excess fat from the skillet to keep the dip from becoming greasy.
2. Season the beef: Add taco seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder to the beef. Stir everything together until the beef is evenly coated with the spices. Let it cook for another minute or two to fully incorporate the seasoning, then remove the skillet from the heat.
3. Prepare the creamy base: In a medium saucepan, melt the cream cheese over low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent burning. Once the cream cheese is melted, add sour cream and milk, stirring continuously until the mixture is smooth and creamy. You should have a rich, velvety base that’s ready to incorporate the cheeses.
4. Add the cheeses: Gradually add the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, stirring constantly to ensure the cheese melts evenly into the sauce. This may take a few minutes. Continue to cook on low heat, stirring until all the cheese is fully melted and smooth.
5. Combine the beef and bacon: Stir the cooked beef and crumbled bacon into the creamy cheese mixture. Mix well, and season with salt and pepper to taste. If you like your dip extra cheesy, feel free to add more cheese at this point to make it even richer and thicker!
