Begin by taking one of the plastic laundry baskets and lining it with the weed barrier fabric. This will help retain soil while allowing excess water to drain, preventing root rot. Cut the fabric to fit the inside of the basket, ensuring that it covers the sides and bottom completely. Secure the fabric in place by folding it over the edges of the basket.
Layering the Soil and Compost for Optimal Growth
Once your basket is lined, it’s time to fill it with a mixture of potting soil and compost. Start by adding a layer of potting soil to the bottom of the basket, followed by a layer of compost.
