I had just gotten home from work when I noticed a missed call and a message from Tom, my husband’s best friend.

Double date? Coachella? That caught me off guard — especially since my husband claimed he’d be working all day.
Curious and suspicious, I quickly looked up “Coachella.” Turns out it wasn’t the festival, but a trendy restaurant downtown.
I didn’t hesitate. I got ready, did my makeup without a hint of panic, and headed over.
