  • In a small bowl, combine warm milk and sugar.

  • Stir in the yeast and let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
    (Skip this step if using instant yeast—add it directly to the flour.)

2. Make the Dough:

  • In a large bowl or stand mixer, mix flour and salt.

  • Add the yeast mixture (or dry instant yeast), softened butter, and egg (if using).

3. Knead the Dough:

  • By hand: Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
