According to the Daily Mail, Routh has been living in Hawaii with his longtime girlfriend for several years. Oran insisted, “He’s not a violent person. He’s a hard worker and a great dad. He’s a great guy, a nice guy, and has worked his whole life.”
Authorities allege that Routh attempted to assassinate Trump by pushing the muzzle of his rifle through a chain-link fence, approximately 300 to 500 yards from where Trump was playing golf. After fleeing the scene, Routh was quickly apprehended.
