Southern Salmon Patties

Ingredients:

1 can (14.75 oz) of pink or red salmon, drained and flaked
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably seasoned or plain)
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup bell pepper, finely chopped (optional)
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tbsp Dijon or yellow mustard
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp garlic powder
Salt and black pepper, to taste
2 tbsp oil (vegetable or olive oil) for frying

Optional Additions:
Fresh parsley or dill for garnish or flavor
1/4 cup grated cheese (cheddar or Parmesan) for a cheesy twist
Hot sauce or cayenne pepper for added heat
A squeeze of lemon juice for a fresh kick
