Instructions:
Mix the squash, onion, cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a bowl.
Beat egg and buttermilk, then fold into the dry mixture until combined.
Heat oil in a deep skillet.
Drop batter by the spoonful into the hot oil and fry 2–3 minutes on each side.
Drain well and serve immediately with dipping sauce.
