This simple and healthy steamed banana recipe is perfect as a breakfast dish or a light dessert. The natural sweetness of bananas is enhanced by gentle steaming.

4 ripe bananas (preferably firm, not overripe)
2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
A pinch of salt
Optional toppings:

A drizzle of melted chocolate or peanut butter
