Add powdered sugar one cup at a time, mixing slowly.
Add vanilla extract, salt, and cream. Beat on high until fluffy and spreadable.

7. Silky Swiss Meringue Buttercream
Ingredients:
4 large egg whites
1 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) unsalted butter, softened and cut into cubes
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Instructions:
Place egg whites and sugar in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler).
Whisk constantly until the sugar dissolves and the mixture reaches 160°F (about 5 minutes).
Transfer to a mixer and whip until stiff, glossy peaks form (about 8–10 minutes).
Switch to paddle attachment and add butter, one cube at a time, beating until smooth.
Add vanilla and salt, and mix until silky.
Ideal for: wedding cakes, layer cakes, and elegant cupcakes.
