Mix Crust Ingredients:
In a bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups of crushed pretzels, 3/4 cup of melted butter, and 4 1/2 tablespoons of granulated sugar. Mix until the pretzels are well coated with the butter and sugar.
Prepare Baking Dish:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 13×9-inch baking dish.
Press Crust into Dish:
Evenly spread the pretzel mixture over the bottom of the greased baking dish. Use a spatula to press the mixture firmly into the dish to form an even layer.
Bake Crust:
Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
Step 2: Prepare the Cream Cheese Layer
Beat Cream Cheese and Sugar:
In a mixing bowl, beat 2 (8-ounce) blocks of softened cream cheese with 1 cup of granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
Fold in Cool Whip:
Gently fold in the thawed 8-ounce container of Cool Whip until the mixture is well combined and fluffy.
Spread Over Cooled Crust:
Once the pretzel crust has cooled, spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the top. Be sure to spread it all the way to the edges to create a seal that prevents the gelatin layer from seeping through.
Chill:
Place the dish in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to set.
