That’s an anti-personnel mine. Do not mess with it and inform the relevant authorities.
I am always amazed at how much unexploded or discarded weapons end up on this sub.

Former Jugoslavian PMR-2A, with what looks like a UPMR-2 fuze. The exact designation is not relevant. It’s an unexploded anti-personnel mine so, as others have said, try to make note of its location, and inform local law enforcement or other emergency services.
The person in this photo was too close as is [actually, if you’re close enough to see it at all, you’re arguably too close]. Also, these mines are normally set out in groups, so there may well be others.
