How To Make Swedish Meatball Noodle Bake
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray and set aside.
Make the meatballs:
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, grated onion, garlic powder, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
Scoop about 1½ Tbsp of mixture per meatball and roll into balls.
Brown the meatballs:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
Cook the noodles:
Boil egg noodles in salted water for 2 minutes less than the package recommends. Drain and set aside.
Make the sauce:
In the same skillet, add beef broth, heavy cream, and Worcestershire sauce. Scrape any browned bits from the bottom and simmer for about 10 minutes, until slightly thickened. Season to taste with salt and pepper, then remove from heat.
Assemble the casserole:
Spread noodles evenly in the prepared baking dish. Top with meatballs. Pour the sauce evenly over the top and sprinkle with grated Swiss cheese.
Bake:
Place in the oven and bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
Garnish & serve:
Sprinkle with chopped parsley and enjoy warm!
