Instructions:
. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two small loaf pans.
. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter. Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until well mixed.
. Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and flour. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, mixing until just combined.
. Prepare the Topping: In a small bowl, combine the sliced almonds, melted butter, brown sugar, and flour. Mix until the almonds are coated.
. Fill Loaf Pans: Divide the banana bread batter evenly between the prepared loaf pans. Sprinkle the almond topping generously over the batter.
. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
. Cool: Allow the loaves to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
. Serve: Slice and enjoy your tawny banana bread with flaky almond topping!
