- Mix the flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Rub in the margarine or butter with your hands until crumbly.
- In another bowl, mix the yeast with a little warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Slowly add the yeast and cold water mixture to the flour mixture, continuing to stir with your hands.
- Knead until you get a smooth and elastic dough; this will take between 10 and 15 minutes.
- Place it in a large bowl, cover it with a cloth and leave it in a warm place for an hour or until it doubles in size.
- Knead again for another 5 minutes and then divide it into desired portions on a baking sheet; let it rest for another 10 to 15 minutes before baking.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C and place the baking sheet inside; bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the bread is golden brown.
Remove from oven and let cool before serving.
