These 9 Harmless Habits Reveal a Lot About Your Personality | March 22, 2025
Annonce:

Without necessarily realizing it, we have lifestyle habits. The way we walk, the way we speak or even the way we handle emails are harmless habits but which reveal more or less things about our personality. As Cicero said: “Habit is almost another nature”
As we grow, we adopt habits. They comfort us, are almost automatic and allow us to be focused on other things in life. These habits evolve according to our state of mind at the time, our social environment and our physical capacity and finally take root in our inner Self. Moreover, the most innocuous habits indicate many things about our personality:

1. The races
The way we shop and buy certain products indicates whether we are more or less attentive to details and, ultimately, whether we are more or less perfectionists. According to an article from Oxford University Press, people who tend to look at and decode product labels before making a decision to buy them are “explanation demons.” They do this to ensure that their purchase will fully meet their needs. In contrast, those who rely on general information to determine that a particular product will meet their needs are “enemies of explanation.”

2. The approach
The way we walk indicates our vulnerability to victimization, according to a study on psychopathy and victim selection. Several inmates who watched short videos of people walking were able to identify who were likely to be victims.

3. The toilet paper roll
After surveying several men and women, relationship expert Dr Gilda Carle found that the way we hang toilet paper indicates whether we are more submissive or dominant in our relationships. She explained in an interview with The Independent that those who hang the part of the toilet paper that needs to be unrolled facing forward are dominant and those who hang it facing backwards (i.e. towards the wall) are more submissive.

4. Emails
It seems that the style and language we use in our emails are a reflection of our personality. According to an article for Fast Company by psychologist Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic, a specialist in profiling, words define us and the way we use them in our emails too. A narcissist will use more “I” statements in their emails, while an extrovert will talk about funny things, and a creative person will use rhetoric or a narrative style. Finally, a person with a low emotional quotient will use negative and pessimistic words and style.
