Fabulous antique early Victorian chatelaine aide memoir from mid 1800s.
Made of sheets of bone, it would have hung on a lady’s chatalaine chain or been kept securely in her pocket and she would have used it to make note and appointments for the week to come. It has 6 pages for the days Monday to Saturday, of course a lady would never have made appointments on a Sunday! This is a nice collectable piece that could probably tells some tales if only it could talk!
The note pad shows some minor signs commensurate with age and having been pre-loved. There is some slight damage to the pencil but it is such a joy to find that the original pencil is still with it that we have kept them together. The fixings are a white metal as is the decoration to the front & back and the pencil.
