Determined to make it in music, Dua convinced her parents to let her return to London by saying she needed to be there to achieve her dreams. She attended the Sylvia Young Theatre School, recorded demo tapes, and uploaded them to YouTube and Soundcloud, showcasing her talent to the world.
Her persistence paid off. Dua Lipa went on to break several records, including the Guinness World Record for the most tickets sold for a live-streamed concert by a solo female artist. She also became the most-listened-to female artist on Spotify in 2021, another Guinness World Record achievement. One of her hit songs, “Levitating,” became the longest-charting Billboard Hot 100 hit ever.
Despite her success, Dua remains humble and grounded, often attributing her values and work ethic to her parents’ sacrifices and resilience. She is deeply connected to her roots, having organized the Sunny Hill Festival to bring international artists to Kosovo and recently obtained Albanian citizenship.
