One cup of fresh blackberries, plus a little more for topping
2-Tbsp sugar, or more or less according to taste-4 oz tequila, ideally reposado for the velvety wood flavor.
– Cointreau or triple sec, two ounces of orange liqueur
Two limes, squeezed just before use – Crushed ice, to taste
– Two wheels of lime, for garnishing
— A few fresh mint leaves, around a handful, to serve as a garnish
Garnish each glass with a dusting of coarse salt or sugar, if desired.
What to do
1. In a cocktail shaker, smash the blackberries and sugar together until the sugar starts to dissolve.
2. Dilute the blackberry combination with lime juice, orange liqueur, and tequila. Put crushed ice into the shaker.
3. Put the shaker cover on and give it a good shake for around 15 seconds, or until it’s completely cooled.
4. If preferred, use a lime wedge to run around the edge of two glasses and dip them into the coarse salt or sugar that has been put on a dish.
5. Put some crushed ice into each glass that has a rim.
6. Evenly divide the blackberry margarita mixture among the glasses that have been prepared.
7. Top with a pinch of fresh mint, a wheel of lime, and more blackberries.
8. Enjoy responsibly and serve immediately!
