Directions
1. Place the sliced onions at the bottom of your slow cooker.
2. Lay the pork shoulder over the onions.
3. Pour the BBQ sauce all over the pork, ensuring it’s well coated.
4. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the pork is tender and can be easily shredded with a fork.
5. Once done, shred the pork directly in the slow cooker using two forks, mixing it well with the sauce and onions.
6. Serve the BBQ pulled pork on buns, over rice, or with your favorite sides!
Variations & Tips
For a tangier flavor, add a splash of apple cider vinegar to the BBQ sauce before pouring it over the pork. If you’re catering to spice lovers, toss in a pinch of cayenne pepper or a chopped jalapeño with the onions. For a smokier taste, use a smoked BBQ sauce. And if someone prefers a leaner cut, you can substitute the pork shoulder with chicken thighs or breasts to make a delightful pulled chicken.
