Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
Fold in the butterscotch chips and nuts, if using.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
