An experiment in France
Building on the positive results achieved abroad, France has decided to experiment with this method on certain routes. Currently, red lines are visible on the A7 motorway near Vienna and on the A10 towards Bordeaux.
If tests confirm their effectiveness, this marking could be deployed more widely on French roads.
Please note: franchising this line is expensive.
For drivers tempted to cross this red line, the penalties are severe. In France, such an offense results in:
- An amendment of 135 euros.
- The withdrawal of 3 points from the driving license.
And in Spain? The rules are even stricter: a fine of 200 euros and a license suspension of up to three months.
A positive impact on security
Initial studies show that this type of marking significantly reduces accidents, particularly in high-risk areas. France hopes that this measure will encourage drivers to drive more cautiously and thus improve road safety.
An innovation to be welcomed
This red marking is not just a unique visual feature. It represents a concrete step forward in improving safety on our roads.
The next time you cross this line, remember its purpose: to protect lives, including yours.
