Keyless entry and start systems are certainly very convenient, but they’re far from essential features. While they make getting into and starting your car much easier, they’re not foolproof and can cause some problems.

First of all, if your key fob battery dies, you could be stranded without warning. This can make it very difficult to get into or start your car. So remember to charge it regularly. Not all cars provide a low battery warning.

Finally, there’s the issue of cost. While many expensive cars come with a host of features as standard, cheaper models typically only have keyless entry/start available as expensive options, if at all.
