The third compartment, recognizable by its flower or four-leaf clover shape, is intended for fabric softener. It offers the possibility of using natural detergents, such as white vinegar and baking soda, for impressive results. Your clothes will not only be softer, but also deliciously scented.
The functions of the other compartments
The other compartments, marked “I” and “II”, also have their specific roles. Compartment “I” is intended for pre-washing, but it should only be used when the laundry is particularly dirty. You can even opt for an ecological approach by replacing polluting detergents with white vinegar. Compartment “II” is reserved for the main wash. Improper use of these compartments can not only damage your washing machine but also affect the cleanliness of your laundry.
Top-loading washing machines
If you have a top-loading washing machine, you won’t find these compartments. In this case, pour the detergent directly into the drum using the recommended dosage for optimal washing. Make sure you know the ideal amount of detergent to avoid any waste.
