When I Went To The New Supermarket For Groceries, I Didn’t Expect To See Their Secret Document

Two days later, I received a call from an unfamiliar number. “Hello, this is Sandra from the supermarket’s head office,” the voice on the other end said. “I understand you’ve raised some concerns about customer privacy.” I felt a flicker of hope. “Yes, I found a list with personal data at the store. I’d like to know why it’s there,” I replied.

“We appreciate your vigilance,” Sandra said, her tone professional. “Our records are meant to be confidential, and we’re conducting an internal review to ensure compliance with privacy laws.” Her words seemed rehearsed, a standard response to appease me.

“I’d like to see the outcome of this review,” I pressed. “Unfortunately, I can’t promise that,” she said, a hint of finality in her voice. “However, rest assured that your information is secure.” With that, she ended the call, leaving me with a hollow reassurance.
