Choosing the right side to limit pain and snoring
For most experts, sleeping on your side, rather than on your back or stomach, is preferable. This positioning naturally reduces pressure on the spine, back, and neck, thus limiting pain upon waking. In addition, for those who snore, sleeping on your side is recommended: the tongue does not obstruct the airways as when you are lying on your back, which limits vibrations and therefore snoring.
