  • 3 tbsp mayo
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • ¼ tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp horseradish
  • ⅛ tsp paprika
  • ⅛ tsp garlic powder
  • ⅛ tsp onion powder
  • ⅛ tsp dried oregano
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ⅛ tsp pepper

For the Onion Petals:

  • 1 large onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • Spray oil

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together mayo, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Cover and refrigerate the sauce.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees F.
  3. Cut the onion in half, leaving the root end intact. Cut each half into 3 wedges, then remove the root end. Separate each wedge into petals and set aside.
  4. In a small bowl, beat the egg and milk.
  5. In a large resealable bag, combine flour, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and baking powder. Add the onions to the bag, seal, and shake to coat. Shake off excess flour.
  6. Dip the coated petals into the egg mixture, then return them to the flour mixture. Shake to coat and place the petals in the air fryer.
  7. Generously coat the onions with spray oil, ensuring there’s no visible dry flour. Cook at 350 degrees F for 5 minutes, flip the petals, spray with oil again, and cook for another 5 minutes. Finally, flip the onions once more and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  8. Serve the Crispy Bloomin’ Onion Petals hot with the zesty dipping sauce.
