Great-Grandma Refused to Babysit Grandchildren Due to Daughter-In-Law’s Stringent Requirements
An issue arose for a grandma in July 2020. Because her son’s wife had to go back to work, she was asked to babysit their two young children, ages four and two, for a week.
An opportunity in her area came her way after she had been attempting to return to the employment for some time, as stated by the Original Poster (OP). A week after the children’s desired start date is the earliest mother may enroll them in childcare.
So, OP would be responsible for watching the kids for nine hours every day. On the other hand, her daughter-in-law (DIL) imposed a number of severe restrictions on the arrangement, including a strict vegetarian diet (no catered food), a TV ban, mandatory enrichment worksheets, and an extremely tight timetable. “I get that they need naps, but I feel like it’s too much when I could be helping them out,” OP remarked.
Isolating the grandmother from her regular social engagements, the ban on guests was the most onerous. The author, who freely stated her preference for watching her other kid, wrote:
