Rare side effects detected after COVID-19 vaccinations: what you need to know?
A global study of more than 99 million people vaccinated against COVID-19 was recently published. This analysis identified rare side effects that may have previously escaped attention due to their very low incidence.
What side effects were detected?
The study found a small increase in the risk of the following conditions after vaccination:
Inflammation of the heart muscle (myocarditis) — mainly in younger men, most often after the second dose of the mRNA vaccine.
Guillain-Barré Syndrome – a rare neurological disorder that can lead to muscle weakness.
Thrombocytopenia (low platelet count) – an increased risk, especially with vector vaccines.
Multisystem inflammatory syndrome — very rare cases in adults and children.
