When a metal object remains in contact with water for too long, an orange substance appears. It is iron oxide, commonly called “rust”, a coloring product that is very difficult to clean. Here are some inexpensive suggestions for removing rust stains from surfaces and textiles.
Removing rust from fabrics:
Removing rust from clothes is not easy. These stains are generated when a damp garment comes into contact with a rusty object or surface. Although sometimes it seems impossible to remove the rust stain, there are methods that allow us to make the garment look like new.
Mix a tablespoon of baking soda with the juice of a lemon and apply to the stain for a few hours. Rinse the garment in lukewarm water and let it dry.
Alternatively, you can use vinegar by applying a small amount to the stain and then covering it with salt. Let the garment dry in the sun and after a few hours rinse and wash the garment.
Dish soap can also be useful for this purpose: pour a teaspoon on the stain, leave for a few hours, then rinse with cold water
