The TikTok lawyer who was helping the family involved in the Manchester Airport police incident has announced he is ‘stepping aside’ in a new social media video filmed from the back of a Mercedes.
Akhmed Yakoob was representing brothers Mohammed Fahir Khan, 19 and Amaad, 25, after footage emerged of a police officer stamping on Fahir’s head.
Mr Yakoob, a Birmingham solicitor with nearly 210,000 followers on TikTok, was initially representing the family but has now announced he is ‘stepping aside’ and has ‘recommended a lawyer’ for the family.
“The media have tried to sabotage me, it’s not the first time they’ve done this,” he said in the clip. “They’ve made this whole situation about me and not police misconduct.
